Stop, Stay & Play in SHADY COVE
'Jewel of the Upper Rogue ...'

Treasure
the sensations of tackling white water rapids; reel in your "catch
of the day" from the legendary Rogue River; enjoy the pleasure
of canoeing the glassy waters of a nearby mountain-fed lake; hike
or bike through a pine-scented trail ... or get wet behind a ski
boat! Feel the freedom to ride 250 miles of old logging trails
converted to OHV trails. Climb a mountain on 150 miles of groomed
snow-mobile trails to experience the ultimate view of Crater Lake
in winter.
Whatever
your pleasure, we welcome you to the recreational resort community
of Shady Cove. Please come and explore our town, and all-season
regional recreational amenities. Our rural lifestyle enjoys mild
temperatures, an unhurried way of life and old-fashioned hospitality.
You will find we have captured many of the best parts of life
along the Upper Rogue River. Located on the Rogue-Umpqua National
Scenic Byway, Shady Cove is the nearest full-service destination
community to the southern entrance of Crater Lake National Park
We
encourage you to take advantage of some of the best fishing and
rafting the Rogue River has to offer. When you are here, be sure
to take the time to enjoy one of our very fine restaurants that
range in style from family style, deli/fast food, to elegant dining
overlooking the Rogue River. Our community has only 2,450 residents,
but we are fortunate to have many of the same amenities usually
available to communities many times our size. Available lodging,
including two very nice RV Parks, and a new 54 unit motel over-looking
the Rogue River with Convention Center and adjacent to the River.
Also, in the heart of Shady Cove, raft rental companies and fishing
guide services are available with a public boat ramp at the Upper
Rogue Regional Park.
The
community celebrates several events throughout the year including
the annual Salmon Barbecue in the center of town at the UR Regional
Park. The annual Spam Parade and festivities will be held on August
23rd and the annual Wildflower Show the first weekend
of May. Increasingly popular is "Daffodil Daze"
celebrated the weekend following the first day of spring; over
a million daffodils are planted on Daffodil Hill and throughout
the community. Come enjoy ...stay and play in our natural one-of-a-kind
playground... you'll never run out of fabulous things to do, and
intriguing places to explore.
