Prospect Search and Rescue is holding its 21st Annual Fly-In on Saturday and Sunday the 17th and 18th of July, 2010. Come and join us; Flyers bring your airplanes. Non-Flyers bring your RV’s and camping gear and stay in one of our many local, state or forest service campgrounds. Or you may try the very popular PROSPECT HISTORICAL HOTEL (circa 1892) for elegant accommodation (1-800-944-6490). Reserve early as they sell out quickly. Please do not call the hotel for Fly-In information (see below). Or maybe stay in the elegant Needle Rock vacation rental overlooking the Rogue River and Lost Creek Lake. (541-560-4172 or www.VRBO.com)

Our EXQUISITE Steak and Chicken BBQ on Saturday at 17:30 hours (5:30p.m.) will again be the talk of west coast pilots and non-pilots alike. We’ll also be serving ham, hotcakes, eggs and hash-browns with biscuits and gravy on Sunday morning beginning at 06:30 hours (6:30a.m.), for those folks wishing to depart in the cool mountain air. We expect to music, games and our regular raffle. There will also be a Hot Dog lunch on Saturday. Coffee and soda will also be available. Combination BBQ/breakfast tickets are $20.00 ($17.00/$6.00) for individual meals) with just a $7.00 tab for Vegetarian-only at the BBQ. Children 6 to 12 are half-price ($8.00-$3.00).

Prospect is a small and unique village located halfway between Medford to our South and Diamond Lake and Crater lake National Park to our North. It’s just a few miles north of Lost Creek Reservoir and Stewart State Park. We are located on the Umpqua Scenic Byway, with a just a short walk to Mill Creek Falls, Barr Creek Falls and the Avenue of Boulders on the Rogue River. Or just take a drive a few miles north through the array of large pine trees to our sister historic village of Union Creek where you can visit the Rogue Gorge, or the natural bridge viewpoints, where the majestic Rogue River has carved its way through beds of ancient lava rock flows.

You can then return by 17:30 hours and enjoy the BBQ dinner and stay over for breakfast. It is best to get your dinner meal tickets early (Reservations accepted) as our chef only feeds 200.

All proceeds for this event go to Prospect Search and Rescue.
