EAGLE POINT
. . . "Gateway to the Lakes"
Eagle Point is a friendly, caring community with
urban standards and a rural sense of place. Located 12 miles northeast of
Medford, just off State Highway 62, Eagle Point is a blend of Old and New
attracting retirees and young families to enjoy a quality of life embedded in
history and family values.
Eagle Point takes pride in being home to the Eagle
Point National Cemetery which inspired the City's "Avenue
of the Flags" honoring our nations veterans. The American Flags are
flown during holidays such as Memorial Day, July 4th, Veteran's Day and other
patriotic events. Located in the downtown historic district next to the Antelope
Creek Covered Bridge, is the Eagle
Point Museum, second largest artifact collection in Jackson County, with
displays of historical items that preserve the history of the city as well as
the upper Rogue and Rogue Valley. The 1870 Butte
Creek Mill, located on Little Butte Creek, next to the museum, is the last
remaining water powered grist mill in the West; a pioneer-era general store site
adjacent to the working mill.
The arrival of the Eagle
Point Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course, marked the beginning of
the growth and revitalization of Eagle Point. This prime location, with one of
the most spectacular views in the Rogue Valley, has plans for Town Homes and a
Village Center is now under construction. People are moving to Eagle Point
because of the livability, friendly people, a recently completed new fire
station, with plans for new schools, and a new library completed in 2003.
The increasingly popular 4th
of July Parade and Festivities, including fireworks, booths, lawnmower
races, and more, bring out both locals and visitors for a hometown reunion and
celebration. For additional events or information, about the City of Eagle
